They are highly drought resistant and they can survive on dry fodder. The Color of their body generally white and light grey, but can vary from light brown to dark brown or red. They have short horns and a broad forehead which add to their unique and endearing look. Most Punganur cattle are between 70 and 90 cm tall . The cows weigh about 115 kg to 200 kg. On average, each cow can make between 3 and 5 kg of milk per day. The milk contains 3 to 5 percent of fat content.
